Oregon has added three new AVAs to its ranks recently: Van Duzer Corridor, Laurelwood District and Tualatin Hills. Bree Stock MW of the Oregon Wine Board has assembled a panel of experts for a virtual class who will explore:

  • Key climatic and soil influences that make these AVAs distinctive
  • How these differences in terroir translate in the cellar
  • Why it was important that these AVAs be created
  • Where these new AVAs fit in the landscape and conversation of the Willamette Valley and Oregon  

Panelists will include:

  • Luisa Ponzi – Winemaker and Co-owner at Ponzi Vineyards representing the Laurelwood District AVA
  • Chad Stock – Winemaker at David Hill Winery in the Tualatin Hills AVA
  • Andy McVay – Winemaker at Dobbes Family Estate representing the Van Duzer Corridor AVA
